MTA Votes Against Cutting SoCal Bus Service.
Southland bus riders got a reprieve today when the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Board of Directors rejected a proposal to eliminate or reduce serve on 29 bus lines. read more

Parks far ahead of Ridley-Thomas in fund-raising.
Citing concerns that the cuts would affect people in high-crime and transit-dependant areas, board members Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, City Councilman Bernard Parks and County Supervisor Yvonne Burke moved that the board reject the proposed cuts and instead search for other ways to save the $12.5 million it will cost to keep the lines running. read more
